Allycia Hellen Rodrigues reaffirmed her dominance in the division with a spectacular display of striking prowess, securing a fourth-round TKO victory over Marie McManamon at ONE Fight Night 29.
The reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion showcased her elite skills on March 7, live in U.S. primetime, from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
From the opening bell, Rodrigues methodically controlled the pace, using jabs and push kicks to keep the debuting Irish-English challenger at bay. The Brazilian star expertly baited McManamon into counterattacks, which she capitalized on in the second round.
As the fight progressed, Rodrigues intensified her assault. In round three, she trapped McManamon against the ropes and unleashed a flurry of left and right punches that forced her opponent into a desperate defensive stance. A thunderous left hook sent McManamon to the canvas, resulting in an eight-count.
The onslaught continued in the fourth round, with Rodrigues systematically breaking down her opponent. Sharp elbows and precise punches altered the landscape of McManamon’s brows, forehead, and eyes, further weakening her resistance.
By the end of the round, the ringside doctor assessed McManamon on her stool and advised referee Olivier Coste to halt the contest. The official stoppage time was recorded at 3:00 of round four.
With this commanding victory, Rodrigues improved her professional record to 34-7, successfully defended her title for the third time, and earned a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
